1 Month

Our little girl is one month old! Time has gone by and I want to highlight some of the great things, and not so great things of this past month.

*Sleepless nights
*Tears of Joy
*Tears of Frustration
*Tears for no reason
*Loving her smile
*Loving looking at her..Staring at her
*Knowing now that when my mom/dad said you'll never know how much we love you until you have one of your own, SO TRUE. I LOVE YOU GUYS that much too!
*Never wanting her to grow up
*Wanting to get back to pre-baby weight, but really not caring
*Loving how my husband is as a father, how great he is at it
*LAUNDRY..it went from whites/Darks/pants to...Pink/White/Dark/Pants
*Two words...BLOW OUTS
*Brooklyn getting better after her reflux
*Starting to get more sleep
*Realizing how important and special my family is
*Being home with my precious daughter ALL DAY playing with her

These are some of the wonderful and not so wonderful joys of parenting, I LOVE IT!!! We have had a great month getting to know our little girl, she is changing so much and it's sad that she'll grow up someday and not need us like she does now. I really realize how much my parents love me, because I feel like I love my daughter more than words could ever explain, and I suppose she will never know how much that is until she has her own. We blessed Brooklyn on Sunday, May 24, 2009. She looked beautiful in a dress that I made (not the best work ever). But she's so cute she pulled it off. It's so amazing that I have a husband who can bless my daughter with all the things that she needs in her life. I also appreciate that my father was able to be there and stand in to bless her in her life also. HOW AMAZING. My Grandfather was also there and able to stand in! David has a huge family, so his Dad, brothers, and Grandpa were also there and stood in. What a wonderful experience it was, and the blessing David gave her was amazing. I recorded it for her so that when she is older she can have it. I'm so excited that I have a wonderful family. I'm feeling very blessed today! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!

Update

So Being a mom is AMAZING. I love my daughter so much, she is growing and changing every day. I love watching her smile, even though she has no idea she's even doing it :). David and I are having so much fun with her, she is getting better about sleeping and staying awake longer and longer each day. I have to say too that my husband and family have been such a great help! They have taken turns with her when I needed sleep and they have given Brooklyn and I so much love and attention.

Mother's Day was GREAT! How weird that I am a mother now! I love my mom so much, she is such a wonderful person, a great example, and a WONDERFUL grandma. It's wonderful to think that I'll share these same experiences with my daughter as I have with my mom. David got me a great new camera for Mother's day, it's smaller than my other one so I can take it with me in Brooke's diaper bag. It's so neat, I love it!!!

Brooklyn Kay Wheeler

So it has been a while since I've posted and that's because I had my sweet daughter!!!!!

Brooklyn Kay Wheeler
April 25, 2009
6lbs 5oz
20 inches long

So the story, I went to the doctor on Tuesday and they wanted to do an ultrasound to check out the baby and see how she was doing. They looked at Brooklyn and she passed her non-stress test with a B because she wouldn't breathe for us the whole time! Silly girl! My blood pressure had been high for the last few weeks and it kept getting worse and I kept swelling, they imagined I had preclampsia. Well, on Friday I was sitting there and got a phone call from my doctors office wanting me to come in and do another ultrasound. Well, Brooklyn looked great and passed her test with an A this time! Then they checked my blood pressure a couple times and were concerned about it so they said we're going to have a baby! HOLY COW!!! They were going to start an induction process that evening with a cervical gel to get things started and then start me on Pitocin the next morning. Saturday morning they started the Pitocin and said "prepare for a long day". Well, about 12:00 they checked me and I was progressing a little bit, and having pain. I was given some drugs to help with the contraction pain SO LUCKY! I pretty much slept through the pain! Then I woke up a couple hours later with TERRIBLE contractions, they checked me and I was farther along then they thought I would be. Then I got my wonderful epidural!!!!! A little bit later I felt the pressure and knew it was time...at 4:20 and after pushing for only about 10-15 minutes my sweetheart was here!! So that means I had a THREE HOUR labor!!! CRAZY.

About Brooklyn, she was born with Blonde hair and blue eyes. Such a beautiful little girl. She is such a great baby, she hardly cries unless it's time to eat and I'm not fast enough. She is getting better about sleeping and she is the best little thing that her Dad and I could ever have asked for. We are so happy that she has come into our lives. She is the best blessing EVER!! Enjoy pictures of my beautiful girl.
